This week as part of art class, my 7 year old daughter and I designed a logo for tacos together. ?. I wanted to show her how to develop an idea from a little rough scribble to something finished through iteration. ?. So we started with a little post it sketch then I had her draw a big version of the taco and lettering. I had her do a second version of the lettering, putting down some guidelines first. ?. Then I broke out the tracing paper and used her taco and letters as the guide to draw something a little more polished. We talked about characterizing it by giving it a face. She wanted to add the speech bubble. ?. Then I showed her how to scan that in and use illustrator to vectorize it and add color layers. ?. Here is the finished version with my color pallet choices. She didn't finish hers yet. ?‍♂️. We learned alot and had fun in the process. ?
